Maybank Badminton Open is a badminton tournament Organized by the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) and with the accreditation authorization being Badminton World Federation (BWF).
When and where
The 2012 Malaysian Badminton Super Tournament was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Specifically, it took place on January 10th to 15th, 2012 at the Putra Indoor Stadium. It was the 57th Malaysia Badminton Open and the second leg in the 2012 BWF World Super Series.

Players and results
Men’s Singles
At the time, in men’s singles, Lee Chong Way from Malaysia was the top-seeded player and he beat Kenichi Tian Er (from Japan) 2-0 in the final. It was his eighth win of the Malaysian Open and his 5th win in a row.
Men’s Doubles
In men’s doubles, Fang Jiemin and Li Shengmu (Chinese Taipei) won over the South Korean team Cao Jianyu and Shen Baizhe 2-1 to get their first Super Series championship that season.
Women’s Singles
In the finals of the women’s singles, there were only Chinese players, and the world no. 1 at the time, Wang Yihan took the title by winning against Wang Xin.
Women’s Doubles
In women’s doubles, the Chinese team missed the final for the first time in many years, and Kristina Petersen and Camilla Lut Yule (Denmark) won over South Korea’s Ha Jung Eun and Kim Min Jung 2-0 to take home the championship.
Mix Doubles
Just like in the women’s singles, in the mix doubles final there were only Chinese players and in the end, Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei won over Xu Chen and Ma Jin to take the trophy.
